Managing social media often means delivering the same critical messages again and again – whether it’s reminding residents about bulky item pickup, sharing weekly job opportunities, or posting monthly council meeting notices. Until now, repeating posts in Social News Desk required a workaround: copying and pasting the same content, reusing post templates, or reposting previously published content.
We’re excited to announce a better way to schedule a series of messages: Recurring Posts are now available in Social News Desk!
Why We Built It
Recurring content is essential for our partners, several of whom asked for this feature to help them streamline their outreach and stay consistent on social.
We knew there had to be a better way to schedule repeat messages without starting from scratch each time. So we designed a solution that’s intuitive, flexible, and built right into the SND Post Composer.
How It Works
Now, when you compose a post in Social News Desk, you’ll see a new Recurring Post icon right next to your scheduling options. Just click to open the recurrence settings and choose:
Start date and time
Recurrence frequency (daily, weekly, or monthly)
Specific days of the week or month that the post should repeat
End of the series:
After a certain number of posts
On a specific date
Or let it repeat indefinitely
Once configured, just click Schedule Recurrence, and SND will take care of the rest—creating scheduled posts for every instance in your chosen pattern.
Total Control Over Each Instance
Each scheduled occurrence will appear individually in Scheduled Posts, Calendar, and Planner, so you’ll always have full visibility. Need to tweak one? No problem:
Edit future recurrences by adjusting the content or schedule.
- Drag and drop to reschedule a single post in the series.
Delete the series with a clear warning before all future posts are removed.
Delete a single post easily from your Scheduled Post column, Planner or Calendar without affecting the rest of the series.
To make recurring posts easy to spot, we’ve added a visual cue: look for the recurring icon in place of a profile picture in Planner and alongside other icons in Calendar and Scheduled Posts. Plus, we’ve added a filter so you can quickly find and manage recurring content at any time.
