Customer Review: Genesee School District boosts productivity with SND

About Genesee Intermediate School District: The Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD), based in Genesee County, Michigan, provides support services to local public, charter, and non-public schools. As one of Michigan’s 56 intermediate school districts, GISD plays a key role in offering professional development, special education services, career and technical education, and early childhood programs. It collaborates with 21 public school districts and 14 public academies in the area, ensuring students and educators have access to essential educational resources and specialized programs.

 

How I use SND:

As the communications and media coordinator at Genesee Intermediate School District, I support all of the local school districts and a population of about 64,000 students. 

 

We started with Social News Desk when the founder was just kicking it off, and I just fell in love with it. I really like how the team responds to our needs.

 

We asked for LinkedIn, we got LinkedIn. We asked for Nextdoor, we got Nextdoor. 

 

Now, even with an agency account for Nextdoor, I can’t see what people are saying. So SND’s Search and Listen tool is really important for Nextdoor because we can see that chatter and maybe get ahead of it and tell our own story instead of letting everybody else tell it.

 

Social News Desk has a great platform for allowing multiple people to log in and you’re not sharing logins. This really helps with productivity. 

 

And the other feature is the draft mode. Everything can go into draft mode. If you have a student or a designated person that may not be the decision maker, just put it into draft mode. Then another person can come in, verify the content, check it over, review it, whatever, and then schedule it.

 

It’s really a time saver. I really can’t say enough about Social News Desk. For the amount of time I’ve been in this industry, I have looked into so many different platforms and they just can’t compete.
